Submissions
We welcome submissions from our site visitors, including essays from parents, teachers, or anyone who has insight with regard to autism; creative works of all kinds; and articles from professionals in fields related to autism. Essays and creative submissions will be evaluated for
artistic merit and relevance to the mission and purpose of aweinautism.org; articles from professionals in various fields will be evaluated for their potential to offer hope, understanding and inspiration.
We also welcome submissions of works by young non-professionals between the ages of 13-18 for our Perspectives section. These works will be evaluated for their potential interest to site visitors, compatiblity with our mission, and the insight they provide from a particular perspective.
We welcome submissions from people representing all views on autism and Asperger's. However, in keeping with our mission and policy, we ask that contributors refrain from promoting a particular treatment or therapy in essays or other information provided for feature content. If your submission is accepted, we will gladly link to your website where people can learn more about your personal views.
If you represent a research organization or learning institution/website and wish to be considered for our Resources section, please send a brief description of your mission and goals, as well as your website address, to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We do not accept submissions for our Links we Love section. Though we realize many of our visitors have excellent sites, in order to remain balanced and to avoid offending any individual or group, this section is reserved for our personal selections, based on their potential value to a large segment of our site visitors. If you believe your website or blog is consistent with our mission and policy, we recommend that you follow us on Twitter and/or Facebook so that we can become familiar with your organization.
Submissions Guidelines:
If your submission is accepted for publication on aweinautism.org, we will contact you. For features on all sections of our Gallery, we ask that you provide a photo of yourself (or, if you are submitting work on behalf of someone with autism, a photo of him/her.) Photos should be taken at the highest resolution possible and sent as JPG files. We also ask that you send a brief bio, as well as a personal comment you'd like to share in your feature. You may also send MP3 files, video links, and your website url, as well as those for any other sites you'd like us to link to.
